The IHSG is an organization dedicated to improving of the science and technology of herbage seed production. The origins of the International Herbage Seed Group (IHSG) begin with the formation of the International Herbage Seed Production Research Group (IHSPRG), which was started in 1978 following the 28th University of Nottingham Easter School in Agricultural Science. Since then, IHSG has offered 10 previous conferences and 5 workshops at locations across the globe. The main objective of the IHSG is to encourage cooperation and communication between workers actively engaged in herbage seed production research, to encourage the interchange of herbage seed research results and publications, and to promote the interchange of ideas and information by means of a newsletter, meetings and conferences. This has remained as the group’s primary mission for 40 years. The first IHSPRG newsletter was published in September 1979.
